Well, finding a job as a fresher especially in India is easy in certain fields and close to impossible in a few others. There are multiple reasons why a fresher don’t able to get a job. One common observation is that most of the students coming out of the college do not have the good knowledge in any one specific skill. Most freshers aren’t able to qualify for interview rounds because of a lack of confidence and knowledge.

Getting a job through campus placements is the best option you can choose because it takes you directly to the recruiters without much effort.
With campus placements chances of landing a job is very much high. But what about those colleges that have poor campus placements or even don’t have. The best way in that case look for off-campus opportunities as well.

2. Job Portals

Well, one obvious way to start off-campus opportunities is the online job portals. Build your profile and make sure it is complete in all aspects. Most job portals filter out the companies based on your skills and requirements so it’s important to search out those companies for which you are looking.

3. Walk-in-interviews

Keep an eye on walk-in-interviews announcements. Most companies publish their drives in newspapers or in online job boards. Now, most companies start taking their qualification round based on your LinkedIn profile. So, it’s important to have your LinkedIn profile complete in all aspects with as many as network connections you can build. Try to engage them, you can also ask for referrals which is an effective way to land in that company.
Once you made some networks and connections on the social network, you will have your reach and you can directly contact in-person or via email, you should not hesitate to approach people directly while you are on a job hunt.

5. Build a great resume

Quite often, freshers don’t spend enough time and effort in preparing resume. You should not copy your resume from other websites or from anywhere. Your resume should effectively highlight your skills and strengths.

The first step to building a resume is to analyze yourself and write down all the abilities you have gained from the past few years including every skills — personal skills, soft skills, technical skills, interpersonal skills, etc.
